Song Of The Day: Emi Ni - Rugged Man and Dagrin

Rugged Man and Da Grin
Of all Of DaGrin's Collaboration before His untimely demise, This song is very outstanding, as it has a whole load of hard core Hip-Hop touch, but is still easy to learn, comical in nature, and could easily be rated G, as in General (for all audience) or Gangster (Strictly for hardcore Hip-Hop fans).
You don't have to be a Rugged Man or DaGrin Fan to fall in Love with this song.
I've had the song on My P.C for a very long time, but listened to it for the first time a couple of days ago, and became addicted to it. Listening to only this song for a full day, Non stop. Nodding My head along with it, and laughing my head off.
Just a pity we do not have DaGrin around to keep reeling out this class of hit songs for us. Fit for clubs, house, radio, loud speaker, car ride, or private listening, with your head nodding to it.

Song Of The Day: Jason Mraz - I'm Yours

Left to me, This song will win every award it is eligible to contend for, from Grammy, to MTV, to Channel O and what ever other award is out there.
It's just a perfect example of what a Love song should sound like.
It's just an endless confession of unlimited love from a Guy to His lovely Lady.
So "No need to hesitate no more, I'm Yours."

Song Of The Day: Phil Collins - True Colors

This song is so cool, I just can't find the right combination of adjective to use in describing it, and not spoil the mood and special feelings of the song in the process.
To not be a kill joy, I'll just stop writing right now, and instead allow you enjoy the song.
This song is dedicated to everyone who loves somebody out there, especially, the "special someone" who called me earlier this evening.
I Love You and do see Your True Colors".

Song Of The Day: Lil Wayne and Eminem - Drop The World

Lil Wayne and Eminem

In My Honest Opinion, If Eminem and Lil Wayne partner on one song every year, it's likely they'll always win the best Hip-Hop collaboration of every major award organized every year. (Example, Drop the World and No Love.)
There's just this Indescribable and Uncommon Chemistry between them which is mostly lacking in collaborations between most big time artist.
IF there is only one lesson I learned from this song, it is this, What they say don't matter, It's all up to me, My decision is final.
And if You piss me off, I might just pick the world, and I might drop it on Your F**King Head.

Song Of The Day: Demi Lovato and Jonas Brothers- This is Me

This song is all about Love, Self Discovery, Personality, Self Confidence, Belief, and more of Love.
If You watch the movie "Camp Rock" then You're sure to fall in love with this song. I'll always love this song, as well as the chemistry between Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers. I hope to see more of them, preferably in a live concert.
(I also love the pretty face of Demi Lovato, She's just too pretty.)

Word For The Day: 1-April-2012

Now I've found Who I am,
There's No Way to Hold it in
No more Hiding Who I wanna be,

Song Of The Day: 2Face Idibia - Appreciate

An Appreciative 2Face Idibia

Today's song is in celebration of my Birthday (30th of March), I just want to use this song to express my Appreciation to God for adding another wonderful year to my days on Earth.
Being alive is not as a result of my ability, usefulness, ingenuity, or brilliance. I actually do not deserve it, but God through his Infinite mercies allowed me to be alive till this moment.
So on my Twentieth Birthday, I want everyone to join me and show appreciation to God by joining me to sing this song.

Man's Quest For Perfection.

Since time immemorial, Man's desire has been to be the best among his peers, to meet the needs of his family and all his benefactors, to be the best at what he does, and many other things.
But over the years, we've come to term the achievement of this goals as diffrent things, Goodness, Greatness, Awesomeness, and finally Perfection.
Considering the difficulty in acheiving this lofty heights and aspiration, people generally come to the conclussion that acheiving perfection is impossible.
That happens to be the first and biggest mistake most people make, their belief that perfection is impossible to attain puts a big limitations ontheir life, thoughts, beliefs, behavior and relationship.
But I've learnt a lesson over the years, our defination of perfection and success differs, and it's more about what works for you, as well as it's relationship and function to you and everyone with you.
It might be difficult or totally impossible to please everyone, but if you are able to get to some level of expertise at the things that matter the most to you, then you've attained perfection.
Basically, as a guy, perfection is being able to take good care of your family, being a good and faithful husband to your wife, a good father to your children, being able to share a couple of interest, time and meaningful conversation with your wife and kids, Being good up to the required level of professionalism at your job, taking good care of your parent, as well as you In-Laws, Being a good friend to all your friends, contributing positively to the lives of everyone around you, and giving a helping hand to anyone you can.
In doing this, you might step on people's toes, displease some people, and fail to satisfy everyone. But if these people do not have direct consequences on the outcome of your actions, then you are on the right path.
Remember, You can not please everyone, But in your little way, you can make you touch, maybe not in everyone's life, but atleast in the life of those that matter to you.
Perfection is Possible, Impossiblity is Nothing, It is all in your mindset.

Song Of The Day: Asa - Why Can't We?

A free spirited Asa asks "Why can't we?"

This is the Number 1 track on Asa's globally acclaimed successful album, "Beautiful Imperfection".
The song is very philosophical, questioning the orientation of most people, and opening us to a new perspective of things.
Lessons from this song are much and include the brevity of life, finding fulfillment and satisfaction, Man's quest for perfection, and many other things.
A literature student can go through the lyrics as a poem and learn a lot from it, just as a philosopher or counselor can pick it up and use it to a teaching or correctional aid. Using it to change the lifestyle of a person who is sacrificing human relationship on the alter of success.
So, "Why can't we be happy?'

Word For The Day: 29-March-2012

“Perfection is achieved,
not when there is nothing more to add,
but when there is nothing left to take away.”
- Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Song Of The Day: Whitney Houston - Greatest Love Of All

Learning to Love yourself, Is the "Greatest Love Of All". This is one of the many lessons I learned from this timeless music.
This is easily the greatest song Whitney Houston ever did, and to me, it remains one of the best song ever written in the history of mankind, both lyrically, production wise, and i any other way a music can be ranked.
This song is loaded with endless lessons, right from the first line to the last, and it seems every line is actually filled with a timeless lessons.
Please, even if you wouldn't listen to the song, please, take timeout to read the lyrics, it might change actually change your perception of Life forever.
I strongly believe that if people will live by the principles outlined in this music, then we'll have a world filled with happier and more loving people.

Song Of The Day: Miley Cyrus - Simple Song

Off the Album Breakout (Platinum), Simple Song remains my favorite Miley Cyrus song ever.
From the first time I heard it (late last year) I've always spent a full day of almost every week listening to this song non-stop.
I'm not exactly a fan of rock music, but there are some music you just can't help loving, and "Simple Song" is a big example of that.
My love for this song is best left unexplained, cos as much as I love Miley Cyrus (from the days of Hannah Montanah), I've not been able to listen to much of her music, but it's impossible to not love "Simple Song".
Listen to it, and feel free to tell me what you think.

Love 101: What Is Love?

(Before reading this piece, I strongly advice you get a copy of today's Song Of The Day, Bob Marley's I s This Love? a.k.a "I wanna Love You". It will help you understand, flow with and articulate this piece.)
Love is easily one of the most misused words in the history of mankind, it is defined in different way by different people, under different context, and in different circumstances.
Everyone has his/her own definition of what love is, but it remains one of the most difficult questions to answer, I'll try my best to answer it, you might not agree with my definition, but feel free to tell us what love means to you.
Love is the indescribable feeling of unexplainable connection between two individuals.
It's not describable, cos it's a feeling that's just impossible to be appropriately described, and it's unexplainable cos it's better felt and expressed than explained.

I made a compilation of my favorite definitions and description of what love, (which I've culled from different internet posts over the years) and I'm happy to share it with you.

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds,
'What does love mean?'
The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined
See what they think:

'When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.'
Rebecca- age 8
'When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.'
Billy - age 4
'Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.'
Karl - age 5
'Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.'
Chrissy - age 6
'Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.'
Terri - age 4
'Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.'
Danny - age 7
'Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that.
They look gross when they kiss'
Emily - age 8
'Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.'
Bobby - age 7
'If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,'
Nikka - age 6
'Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.'
Noelle - age 7
'Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.'
Tommy - age 6
'During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore.'
Cindy - age 8
'My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.'
Clare - age 6
'Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.'
Elaine-age 5
'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.'
Chris - age 7
'Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.'
Mary Ann - age 4
'I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.'
Lauren - age 4
'When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.' (what an image)
Karen - age 7
'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross.'
Mark - age 6
'You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.'
Jessica - age 8

And the final one

The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.
Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said,
'Nothing, I just helped him cry'

WHAT IS LOVE?
LOVE IS:
The strongest feeling known
The all-compassing passion
An extreme strength
An overwhelming excitement

LOVE IS:
Trying not to hurt the other person
Trying not to change the other person
Trying not to dominate the other person
Trying not to deceive the other person

LOVE IS:
Understanding each other
Listening to each other
Supporting each other
Having fun with each other.

One Baptist preacher has aptly said:
“Love is not a namby-pamby, loosy-goosy, warm and fuzzy feeling. That’s Hollywood love. That’s sub-teen puppy love.. . . Love is not a warm glow in the gut; that’s probably heartburn. . . . Love is more than tender words and affectionate glances. Love is more than gracious gestures, good table manners, and finely-tuned social skills. Love is more than feel-good.Love is self-sacrifice. Love is giving beyond what you have to give and moving into what you want to give.”

 "Where There’s Love.":

Where There’s Love . . .
There’s an elegance of simplicity
An affluence of frugality
And a display of humility
Where There’s Love . . .
It is home in its true place
Even outside its own race
Destined there by divine grace
Where There’s Love . . .
It calms every fear
Provides a listening ear
And wipes the sobbing tear
Where There’s Love . . .
Compassion is its fight
Gentleness is its might
And forgiveness is its right
Where There’s Love . . .
Its friendship is very real
Risking all is no big deal
For helpfulness is its zeal
Where There’s Love . . .
Innocence is its age
Childlike trust is its face
And patience is its pace
Where There’s Love . . .
It finds excuses to share
And offers a daily prayer
For God to keep it from care

In conclusion, Love is more than what most people take it to be, in subsequent posts, we'll talk more about what love is, and what it is not.

It is best we stop striving to define love, and instead look for an appropriate way to express it.

Remember.....
God Is Love....
Love Is All.

LOVE 101 : A Practical Course on Loving and being Loved.

For goodness sake, can someone tell me, What is Love?

Love is easily the most misused word in the English vocabulary (Same thing applies for it's translations in other language).  It is easily the most misunderstood word.
Thanks to it's continual abuse, "Love" is now one of the most dreaded words, we all want to say it, as well as hear someone say it to us, but the moment we hear it, we get all suspicious and defensive. "Love" has led to the ending of some great friendship, as well as partnership. It seems the moment most people hear the word love, an alarm automatically goes off in their head that says "Caution, Danger Ahead.".
The word Love has raised a lot of question, among which I'll be asking a few, and over the course of some time, I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability.
-What is Love?
-Differences between Love and Lust.
-Dangers of falling in love.
-Benefits of falling in love.
-How soon is too soon to say "I Love You"?
-Are there any laws binding Love?
-Are there any loop-holes in the laws regarding Love?
-What's the difference between love among friends of same sex, and friends among opposite sex?
-Is Love ever too much?
-How do you know you've fallen in Love?
-Why should I Love?
-Does He/She love me as much as I Love Him/Her?
-Should I tell my best-friend of the opposite sex I love her, when I begin to fall in love with her?
-What if I offend her?
-Could I loose a friend because of Love?
-What are the attributes of Love?
-Is there anything like true Love?
-Is Love ever worth the risk?
-Do I Love Him?
-What is "Biblical Love"?
All these and many more I'll try to answer from my perspective.
Although I'm not a relationship expert, (I've never been in one) My neutral view might just help you find the answer to your love questions.
Just stay tuned to this blog, and I'll answer every question you might have at the end of each post, feel free to leave your coments.
Remember, Love Is All,
God Is Love,
and I Love You All.

Only Me???

I've never been one for having much friends, despite the fact I've always had a lot of people around me. I'm even surprised when I show up at a place and people greet me and I'm like, "sorry, have we meet before". some people think I'm being proud or do not want to acknowledge them, they don't know I actually find it difficult to remember faces.
In spite of this fact, I actually rely heavily on my friends, and trust them with all of my secrets. I'll never do something without seeking the opinion of at least two friends, and thankfully, their opinions a=have proved really valuable to me.
But then, I sometimes try to imagine if I'd never meet one of my friends, each time I do this, the picture always look incomplete, even the most distant of my friends and the long lost ones, their opinion have proved priceless at different times in my lives, and I'll remain forever grateful to every one of them.
I wouldn't be who I am without the contribution of each of you, I sometime look at my life as a collection of bits and piece of different people, and I can actually point at these people and say I am proud of them.
So, to all my inestimable friend, friends of endless and priceless virtues, I want to say a BIG "THANK YOU" to everyone of you.
Thank you for making me the person I am to you, I constantly pray for your well being everyday, and pray God grant everyone of you your heart desires.
God bless you all. (Amen).

Song Of The Day: 2Face- Only Me

This song became a second National anthem in Nigeria, and it had ripple effect across Africa. When this song was released by 2Face Idibia, the whole of Africa stood up to acknowledge a true son of the soil.
The song went on to win multiple awards in Nigeria and across Africa, making it one of his all time fans favorite (Maybe second only to his earlier release, "African Queen").
If I was asked to rank 2Faces song, I'll rank Appreciate it as Number 1, Only Me as Number 2, and one other one as number 3, but most ladies in Africa would always rank African Queen as his all time best song, (But I have a problem with that, well, I'm not a girl).
But Only Me is like a song of consolation to those still at the bottom of the socio-economic ladder, letting them realize that they could still make it, and telling those who were already successful to treat others with respect as as the guys at the bottom might be at the top in the future.
The song as a comical feel to it, as it's tells of the boredom that will be apparent in the life of a millionaire, if he has no one to spend the money with. But it's a true fact, wealth is best enjoyed if it is being shared with friends and people we care about.
Ladies and Gentlemen I present to You, from one of Africa's finest, From the best selling album, Unstoppable (International Version).
Join me and enjoy the song for today, "ONLY ME".

Reminiscing (Nursery and Primary School)

Today, I spent time reminiscing over my bitter-sweet memories of the first formal school I attended. (I think it's the second or third, but I'm not sure). I remember being inquisitive, and wanting to know "the story behind the story".
I always wanted to know why black is black, and white is white. In the process of doing this, I meet some of the greatest individuals ever (in my innocent mind). I'll spend the next couple of paragraphs talking about my childhood friends.
I remember as a kid, I had two close friends, and we were more or less triplets, at school, you can hardly find one of us without the other two, there was Junior, Mubo (or Sumbo, I'm not exactly sure of the name anymore), and there was me. Junior was one of the most intelligent boys in my class, while Mubo was, and still remains one of the most beautiful, and most intellient girls I've ever meet.
At this point in my life, we were less than seven years old, and every one of us acted with the innocence of our childhood knowledge, and our minds were unpolluted with the serious stuffs of life.
Mubo lived next to the school, while Junior's house was just a stone throw from school, but my house was kinda far from school, but I can remember spending a reasonable amount of time at the house of the both of them, and I can remember going to Junior's house with Mubo before school resumed in the morning, and sharing in a plate of rice, stew and fried plantain. (in my innocent mind, it still remain one of the sweetest plate of food I ever eat outside of home). And there were still loads of other fun things we did together.
After leaving the school in primary two or three, They were what I missed the most at my new school, and I still miss them much till now. i sometimes wonder what my life will turn out like if I had remained at the same school with them, maybe I and Junior will remain best of friends, and maybe, just maybe, I might be dating Mubo now,  that's if Junior isn't dating her already (Since I've come of age, I always fancied my chances with her, and what we'll look like as a couple). I know they would have influenced my choices of other friends, education, relationships and career. One thing for sure, with them remaining in my life, my life would surely be different, (hopefully positively) but still, I'll give anything to go back in time and go through my teenage years with them.
They remain an essential part of the story of my life, and I'm actually making moves to reconnect with them once again, (thanks to a mutual friend) and I hope they have also made remarkable progress inlife.
Mubo and Junior, I've always prayed for you, and will continue praying for you.
I pray you achieve your dreams, and live up to your potentials.
I hope to see you guys soon, and tell the world more of your greatness.
I've always and will always miss you(until we hook-up again).
May God continually keep and protect you.
I miss you and Love you. God bless you.
