A Friend In Need Is A _____

Friendship, Black, White, Children, Kids, Beauty, Angelic, Innocence,
Attitude makes all the Difference in Giving and Receiving
A Friend in need can mean a lot of things to a different people. That's why we say "Different strokes for different folks." The popular saying is that "A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed."
But time and again, I've had reason's to disagree with this. I've been shown that just as He can be a "friend indeed," a friend in need can also be "a counselor, a confidant, a threat to You, or worse of all, A Pain in the Ass."
Back to the original saying, a friend in need can be a friend indeed diverse ways, He can be Your truest friend, standing by Your side, attending to your every need, just to ensure He gets what he needs, while at the same time, He can begin to bring up everything he ever did for you. Even the inconsequential ones. The favors you never thought in Your wildest dreams will be mentioned ever again, some even go as far as bringing back to your memory embarrassing moments you shared together.
The most annoying friends are split into two categories, there are some who will stick to you like a tick, almost walking in your legs, willing to do anything, even when you obviously do not need their help. It's worse if you are in public, as they seem to have lost all sense of decorum, and would gladly disgrace the both of You. They'll agree to whatever You say, take decisions for you, live for you (If Possible), and make Your life a living hell.
The second and I'll say most annoying ones are those who act as if You owe it as a duty to them to satisfy whatever need they have. They'll threaten You, coerce you, cut you off, and even blackmail you just to get what they need. Most of the time they don't deserve the favors, but they'll just choose to be a pain in the neck, giving you unpleasantly surprise visits, and would even report you to everyone you know in common, telling them of how you are being selfish, proud and arrogant.
I had an experience with someone recently, doing him a favor, and expecting him to meet me halfway across, finish up the stuff himself, but he was adamant that I should do all the work myself and send him the completed Job. This is in spite of the fact that doing it had already cost me unnecessary expenses. He was adamant, and when I insisted He come to collect his Job and finish it off Himself, he requested that I dispose of the whole project, as he will get what He needs elsewhere. I decided this was going to be the last time I'll ever do anything for him again. And I intend to keep my word.
Just as "A Friend in Need can be A Friend Indeed",  so also "A Friend in Need can be A Pain in the Neck". It all comes down to wisdom, maturity, experience and attitude.

The Love(S) Of My Life

I've never been one for keeping much friends, and interestingly, until I finished secondary school, I hardly kept a friend for period of five years, circumstantial incidence made it impossible to remain friends with the same person for such a period of time.
But in the midst of it all, I've always had some special persons, with whom I've been a lot closer to, this people were more than friends to me, they were more than siblings, they were more like a part of me. This people defined my life and made me what I am today, I owe them a lot of appreciation (and maybe some blames). Among these people, I'm proud to say I've met some beautiful, Intelligent, Interesting and simply wonderful girls.
Due to my unusual close relationship with these lovely girls (and ladies) over the years, a lot of people believed I must have dated a number of them (I Wish I Did), but our relationship was mostly platonic, innocent, care-free, and fun.
I've decided to write about them for posterity sake, so everyone who reads this will know them, (hopefully one or all of them also get to read this). And for anyone who recognizes any of these girls, "Congrats". While for every other reader, I'll use their initials instead of their names.

M: M was the very first girl I'll say I had a special something for, We met in the primary school, probably before we turned seven years old, we were part of a three man gang, with the third person being my best friend at that time, a boy who goes by the name of J.
M was special to me, as she was easily the most beautiful and most intelligent girl I knew back then, All the good memories I have of that school has M in them, after I left the school, I didn't see her for over ten years, but recently, I met a mutual friend who has her contact details, I intend to renew contact with her in the next couple of weeks. Maybe this time, I'll take my chances and ask to take our "Friendship" beyond "Friendship".
(The most intriguing aspect of M and I is that we were a part of each other's childhood, were best of friends, and our innocence in the midst of such a wonderful relationship is what I love the most about our friendship)

E.E: E was this my class mate at the second primary school I attended, she was the quiet type, not very confident, but what she lacked in confidence, she made up for with intelligence. We were very close until we finished primary school, people even made jokes of her being my wife.
We parted ways after our primary school days, I saw her a couple of times after that, but didn't talk much, but I'll admit, she looked better each time I saw her (I don't know how that's possible).
I hope to meet her one day, even if we'll be nothing more than friends, I think it'll be worth the time and effort.

JC.O: After I spent the whole of my years in Junior Secondary School avoiding girls like a plague, I got to Senior Secondary School, and there I met the most perfect combination of beauty and brain I had ever seen in my life (at that time), She was one of the most popular girls in our class/session, she was not only beautiful and brilliant, but she was also friendly and open minded, she listened to everyone's opinion around her, was a natural leader, and very humble.
This attracted me to her, and although we did not talk much in our school days, after finishing secondary school, we got to know each other better, and became better friends. I learnt a lot from her (I still do). Happily enough, we are still friends (although I'll love it if we'll be more than that) and I hope we remain best of friends for ever.
She changed and upgraded my standard for measuring girls, raising my expectations, and helping me to relate better with girls.

D: Soon after I got into Senior Secondary School, I meet a girl online, she stays outside of Lagos state, but I still wanted to be friends, so we kept in contact. Over the years, we got to know each other better, shared a lot of memories as well as secrets. I learnt a lot of things from her, as she opened up herself to me, making me do the same. She taught me a new type of trust, making me trust in a way I had never done before.
She changed my perception of things, teaching me to see things from the female point of view, helping me understand the female-folk better, making me a better man in the process. We were actually closer than most couples I knew around. From what I understood from her and other couples, I think there's a probability we might have been closer, or shared more than she did with her boyfriend.
I always wonder, if she was staying in Lagos, or someplace closer, and not half way across the country, Maybe, just maybe we will have dated.
I'll always be grateful to her for curing a better percentage of my naivety, making me more trusting, more knowledgeable, more experienced, and a better man.
I Love her very much, and we'll always be best of friends (I hope my wife agrees) .

B: When I got to Senior Secondary School, We also moved to a new house, I had a neighbor who lived just a couple of houses away, someone I'll normally never talk to, but we had something in common, our love for books. I grew up reading everything that I came across, from novels to textbooks, to newspapers, to magazines, just anything written or printed. I was not selective (except it had to do with figures, basically I was kinda allergic to mathematics).
And here I was in a new location, with basically no social skills, and I saw this girl who I never saw without a novel. We hit it up from there, became best of friends (Which I still don't understand how, cause we're very different).
She was my new source of novels and textbooks cause we were in the same class (but different schools). We had a lot of memorable and intelligent conversations. And she made me see another view of the female folk. She helped me develop my social skills, making me more receptive of people, and brought out more of the interactive person in me.
We'll remain best of friends for a long time (maybe forever, or until I get a wife) as she's proven herself to be very knowledgeably, as well as being resourceful.

C: This is most unexpected inclusion on this list, I knew her all through my Secondary School days, She was always in the next class to mine, we saw each other basically everyday, but hardly ever spoke with each other, but there are some facts I'll admit to, Firstly, she's very beautiful, also, she's very intelligent, finally, she's a friendly person, but we were never friends.
Until recently, (Over two years after secondary school) I was repeatedly visiting my best friend, and her house was just a few streets away. I saw her almost every time I went to visit him, as she was friends with his elder sister.
We began to speak with each other, and became kinda friendly, now I know her a little better, and I can actually say she might be "The One".

All this people are part of my history, they are a part of me, and have contributed immensely in making me what I am today.
To everyone of you I want to say a big "THANK YOU", God bless you all, an "I Love You All".

Pre-Exam Prayers

Tomorrow Morning, over a million people around and even outside Nigeria will be writing the entrance exam into Tertiary Institution.
This is one of the most dreaded exams in the academical calender here in Nigeria, students spend over all of the three years of senior secondary school, and sometimes even more to prepare for it, This exam raises the confidence of people, makes their future and takes them from being boys to being men, at the same time, it has reduced "Big Boys" to "Little Babies". It even drives some people to the point of suicidal tendencies.
Some people write this exam only once and get the desired results, while others have a couple of tries at it before getting their desired results, while some have written it over five, if not ten times, and are yet to gain the much sought after admission into Higher Institution of Learning.
I happen to have a couple of friends (Over Five of them, including my best-friend as well as my younger sister who are writing this crucial exam tomorrow, some of them are confident, while others are scarred,  some of them are optimist, while others are pessimistic and skeptical. I do have a word for everyone of you, "Fear Not, God is with You".
I pray you find favor tomorrow, find the exam easier, and meet questions from areas you have read.
May God's Presence and Favor be with You, Go in Peace, The Lord is Your Strength.
To All JAMB/UTME candidates, this is to wish you the very best, God bless you.

Song Of The Day: Whitney Houston - Greatest Love Of All

Learning to Love yourself, Is the "Greatest Love Of All". This is one of the many lessons I learned from this timeless music.
This is easily the greatest song Whitney Houston ever did, and to me, it remains one of the best song ever written in the history of mankind, both lyrically, production wise, and i any other way a music can be ranked.
This song is loaded with endless lessons, right from the first line to the last, and it seems every line is actually filled with a timeless lessons.
Please, even if you wouldn't listen to the song, please, take timeout to read the lyrics, it might change actually change your perception of Life forever.
I strongly believe that if people will live by the principles outlined in this music, then we'll have a world filled with happier and more loving people.
Remember, "The Greatest Love of All is Inside of You".

Forgiveness VS Revenge

Since time immemorial, it has been man's nature to offend his fellow man, this he does by word of mouth, or by action. But the question has always been after the offense, what next.....

Are you supposed to let the culprit/offender go scot free, or do you avenge his actions? This is a question that has bewildered humanity since the beginning of time.

Our reaction to this offense is affected by a lot of circumstances, like what is the gravity of the offense? where did it happen? who were those present there? Who committed the offense? and many other factors.

Deciding to revenge most times seems the right and logical thing to do, you feel if I don't exert my revenge, people will see me as a weak person, and others will want to treat me in the same manner this offender did. But if I revenge his acts, people will accept that I'm a tough guy, and they''ll stay out of my way, they'll never want to cross paths with me.
The only problem is this, your revenge might lead to other chain reactions, leading to a back and forth exchange of offenses and revenges. Whereras, forgiving the offender will make him respect you, he'll see you in a new light, as the bigger fellow, who can put past incidents behind him and forge intp the future.
Sometimes, someone offends us unkowingly, and it never crosses his mind to apologise, as he's not aware of your reaction or view to his action, and you are plotting to revenge on him.
It is actually more profitable to forgive an offender than to exert revenge on him, cos in most instances, it takes and cost nothing  to forgive, while you'll actually spend time and mental capacity, (and sometimes even money) to plot out a revenge.
When you forgive someone, your heart carries less burden, and you can focus you mental as well as physical and finacial capacity into other profitable ventures.
In most cases, it will do you more good than loss or hurt to Forgive, than to Revenge.
Remember a line of the "The Lord's Prayer" which says....
"And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. " Luke 11 : 24

LOVE 101 : A Practical Course on Loving and being Loved.

For goodness sake, can someone tell me, What is Love?

Love is easily the most misused word in the English vocabulary (Same thing applies for it's translations in other language).  It is easily the most misunderstood word.
Thanks to it's continual abuse, "Love" is now one of the most dreaded words, we all want to say it, as well as hear someone say it to us, but the moment we hear it, we get all suspicious and defensive. "Love" has led to the ending of some great friendship, as well as partnership. It seems the moment most people hear the word love, an alarm automatically goes off in their head that says "Caution, Danger Ahead.".
The word Love has raised a lot of question, among which I'll be asking a few, and over the course of some time, I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability.
-What is Love?
-Differences between Love and Lust.
-Dangers of falling in love.
-Benefits of falling in love.
-How soon is too soon to say "I Love You"?
-Are there any laws binding Love?
-Are there any loop-holes in the laws regarding Love?
-What's the difference between love among friends of same sex, and friends among opposite sex?
-Is Love ever too much?
-How do you know you've fallen in Love?
-Why should I Love?
-Does He/She love me as much as I Love Him/Her?
-Should I tell my best-friend of the opposite sex I love her, when I begin to fall in love with her?
-What if I offend her?
-Could I loose a friend because of Love?
-What are the attributes of Love?
-Is there anything like true Love?
-Is Love ever worth the risk?
-Do I Love Him?
-What is "Biblical Love"?
All these and many more I'll try to answer from my perspective.
Although I'm not a relationship expert, (I've never been in one) My neutral view might just help you find the answer to your love questions.
Just stay tuned to this blog, and I'll answer every question you might have at the end of each post, feel free to leave your coments.
Remember, Love Is All,
God Is Love,
and I Love You All.

Only Me???

I've never been one for having much friends, despite the fact I've always had a lot of people around me. I'm even surprised when I show up at a place and people greet me and I'm like, "sorry, have we meet before". some people think I'm being proud or do not want to acknowledge them, they don't know I actually find it difficult to remember faces.
In spite of this fact, I actually rely heavily on my friends, and trust them with all of my secrets. I'll never do something without seeking the opinion of at least two friends, and thankfully, their opinions a=have proved really valuable to me.
But then, I sometimes try to imagine if I'd never meet one of my friends, each time I do this, the picture always look incomplete, even the most distant of my friends and the long lost ones, their opinion have proved priceless at different times in my lives, and I'll remain forever grateful to every one of them.
I wouldn't be who I am without the contribution of each of you, I sometime look at my life as a collection of bits and piece of different people, and I can actually point at these people and say I am proud of them.
So, to all my inestimable friend, friends of endless and priceless virtues, I want to say a BIG "THANK YOU" to everyone of you.
Thank you for making me the person I am to you, I constantly pray for your well being everyday, and pray God grant everyone of you your heart desires.
God bless you all. (Amen).

Dreams Come True

That catch phrase describes exactly how I feel. "DREAMS COME TRUE" and That's actually true.
For the past 10 years, I've dreamed of becoming a major player in the entertainment industry, I've made a lot of moves to come in, I went for a couple of training as well as seminars, workshops and conferences.
Then about 6 months ago, a close friend of mine opened my eyes to the prospects of starting out small, he advised me to start from where I was. At that time, I didn't even have half of the money needed to begin the planing process with, but I had faith that once I started the journey, My God will see me through.
Between September 2011 and March 2012, I've spent the type of money I never dreamed I could raise, I asked for favors no one in their sane mind will normally give to me, I did things I never dreamed were possible, now, I'm actually feeling on top of the world, Telling anyone who cares to hear that dreams do come true, and convincing people that miracles still happen.
If you are looking up to God for anything, my prayer for you is that this week, Your prayers will be answered, and you'll sing and dance for Joy.
Meanwhile, I'll continue to update you all.
God bless you.

WHAT I HATE THE MOST?

There are somethings which I just find "Impossible" to bear. Some people might feel the word "HATE" might be too strong to describe these feelings, but trust me, this thing hurts more than you think.
It happens that I'm, in a position to change some of these "Situations" but, I just cant help some of them. And even when I try to run away from them, they begin to vehemently put their faces in mine.
I'm gonna share a number of them with you, and you can share yours by leaving a comment below.
I hate it when My Boss who happens to be a novice on a subject keeps pushing a wrong decision/view at me.
(Sometimes, I feel like punching him in the face, but that might cost me my job.)
I hate it when an Adult authoritatively displays his/her foolishness.
(Sometimes I try to correct them, but they'll mostly use their age as a reason they should be wiser than me, while some will even claim experience is the best teacher.)
I hate it when Someone repeatedly refuses to take correction.
(Dude, no one is an Island of knowledge. You shouldn't hoard it, neither should you refuse new ones. It's impossible to know everything, but it's possible to learn something New.)
I hate it when Someone tells a lie right to my face.
(Sometimes, I already know the truth, but will keep leading the person on, just for the fun. But it gets a lot more annoying when the person in question is openly trying to make a fool of you.)
I hate it when I'm telling the truth to a person, but the person just wouldn't believe me.
(Excuse me Sir/Miss, Not everybody that lie like you do, so believing me might just do you some good.)
I hate it when The Person I'm trying to ignore keeps putting himself in my face.
(Irrespective of the fact I'm actually shunning, ignoring, shutting or even giving him the "silence treatment" He just won't get the message.)
I hate it when I'm trying to talk to a girl, and she believes I'm hitting on her.
(Is there nothing else a guy can talk to a girl about other than asking her out or hitting on her? come on.... Even when I'm trying to ask for directions, she's busy trying to "form levels." If I wanted to ask you out, I'll not be asking all the questions, I'll be forthright with you)
I hate it when a girl I'm not interested in keeps throwing herself at me.
(Ladies, please, if he's not interested let him be. If I'm not interested, someone else will surely someone else will be. So just let me be.)
I hate it when someone wants to force me to love a song.
(We don't share the same brain, so I wouldn't necessarily love everything you love. Your best choice might be the worst to me, this shouldn't make you pick offense. And if I tell you I don't like it, then put it off or listen to it alone.)
N.B: This also applies to books, movies, artist, athletes, sports, clubs, videos, and every other thing.
I hate it when an established artist begins to put out trash songs.
(Do they take us for fools. You are a success today doesn't mean we the fans will follow your lead blindly. If you have no sensible song, just shut up, and we'll continue to celebrate your past glories.)
I hate it when a person continually puts up with an undeserving spouse.
(Relationships are meant to be enjoyed and not endured. He makes your life a liveing hell, cheats on you, beats you, treats you like trash, then what are you still doing with him? Trust me, there are over a thousand and one guy who'll be happy to have you. Leave him alone and move on with your life.)
N.B: This also applies to guys. And no Guy or Lady is so good that You'll die if you don't date her. GROW UP PLEASE.
There are still a lot of them, but I'll leave the rest for another day.

The fact is the things sometimes act as comic relief to me, but when it gets over-bearing it begins to piss me off.Feel free to share with us some acts, habits, or things that annoy you.

Song For The Day: T.I and Chris Brown - Get Back Up

This is My song for the day, It describes exactly How I'm feeling.
It's a song for everyone who's stuck at the bottom of life's cycle, It's a song of hope and encouragement for the despairing, It's a song of succor.
The most important lesson I learned from the song is that in our strive for perfection and success, we'll make a lot of mistakes, we'll go through the ups and downs of life, but it's our response to such situations that makes all the difference.
No matter the mistake you have made, or the situation you find yourself in, don't give-up, as lond as there is still breath in you, then there should still be a will, desire and strength to keep the struggle going.
Never Forget, "When they Push You down, You'd better get back Up."

Here's the Lyrics:
T.I ft Chris Brown – Get Back Up Lyrics

[T.I]
I’m only human dawg
I’m only human dawg
I’m only human dawg

[Chris Brown]
Can you forgive me
It’s an SOS to let me be me

[T.I]
ay, ay, ay listen to me
And when they push you down,
you got to get back up
And when they push you down,
you got to get back up

[T.I]
Push the dirt off your jersey than go for the cup
or the trophy or the ring, champion no matter what
cause when you got the belt and the ring
people with ya poppin bottles, taking pictures look around
as soon as you fall down all the haters pass a judgement
surprise, i’m here to show that I’ma rise above this

Ay, what it is World
yeah it’s me again, back before you, at your mercy
don’t bend your knee again, no running from the truth
as much as we pretend, that it aint what it is, than it hits CNN
apologies to my fans and my closest friends, (I’m sorry)
for letting you down, I wont take you down this road again
most of you now saying whatever, here we go again
blogs, radio, and television all going in
I laugh to keep from crying through all of the embarrasment
I gotta say you f-cking haters is hilarious
how dare you sit right there and act as if you holier than thou
point your finger now with me looking down
same clown that was twitpic’ing at my wedding
on the same twitter page disrespecting
wait a second (hold up)
never mind my imperfections this is fact, remember that
no mistakes too great to recover and bounce back

[Chris Brown]
and when they push you down, you got to get back up
and when they push you down, you got to get back up

[T.I]
Push the dirt off your jersey than go for the cup
or the trophy or the ring, champion no matter what
cause when you got the belt and the ring
people with ya poppin bottles, taking pictures look around
as soon as you fall down all the haters pass a judgement
surprise, i’m here to show that I’ma rise above this

[T.I]
I admit, yeah, I done some dumb sh-t,
disappointed everybody I know
try not to hold that against me though
my road to redemption has no GPS
so guess the time must be invested for this to be manifested
yes it’s hard living life in the spotlight
trying to dodge the haters same time as the cop light
the bible say “let he without sin cast the stone first” (stone first)
the sinner or the one who judged him, who was wrong first?
yeah he go to work, never done no drugs or to be fair
he just drink his liquor, touch his kids, beat his wife instead
difference is, my shortcomings hit the media
thanks to TMZ, the AJC and Wikipedia
see the stairway to heaven while stepping down Jacob’s ladder
my good outweigh the bad, God, aint that what really matters, nope
a matter of fact I’m wrong but after that the good i’ve done in your hood
should it overshadow that?
got the World laughing at me for the moment
but it gonna be your turn ‘fore it’s over with
even if you so legit that you get a house with a dog and a picket fence
the people with you then but when they turn on you remember this

[Chorus]
Push the dirt off your jersey than go for the cup
or the trophy or the ring, champion no matter what
cause when you got the belt and the ring
people with ya poppin bottles, taking pictures look around
as soon as you fall down all the haters pass a judgement
surprise, i’m here to show that I’ma rise above this

[Chris Brown]
Hello, out there
can you hear me
can you hear me
ah, ah, ah, ah
can you (hear you)
hello, out there,
can you hear me
you gotta get you
you gotta gotta believe in me
hey

[T.I]
I accept full responsibilty for the all the wrong I’ve done
If y’all thought I were perfect
I apologise for being human man
but never again partner
you can put my life on that

[Chorus]

And you can love me, or you can leave me
before you judge me, just let me be me
and you can love me or either leave me
before you judge me, see life aint easy
[End]
